Investing.com – Australian equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the US and sectors led shares lower.

It lost 0.22% at the close in Sydney.

The best performers of the session were Adbri Ltd (ASX: ), which rose 32.16% or 0.73 points to trade at 3.00 at the close. Meantime, Link Administration Holdings Ltd (ASX: ) added 27.65% or 0.47 points to end at 2.17 and Tabcorp Holdings Ltd (ASX: ) was up 23.81% or 0.18 points to 0.91 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Omni Bridgeway Ltd (ASX: ), which fell 4.14% or 0.06 points to trade at 1.39 at the close. Perenti Global Ltd (ASX: ) was down 4.13% or 0.04 points to end at 0.99 and Kogan.com Ltd (ASX: ) was down 4.06% or 0.22 points to 5.20.

Decliners outnumbered advancers on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 674 to 529 and 354 ended unchanged.

Adbri Ltd (ASX: ) shares rise to 52-week high; a gain of 32.16% or 0.73 to 3.00.

The gauge, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, rose 3.19% to 10.18.

Gold futures for February delivery rose 0.06%, or 1.20, to $2,036.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, February crude futures rose 0.54% or 0.39 to trade at $72.17 a barrel, while Brent crude for February was up 0.51% or 0.39 to trade at 76.94 USD per barrel.

AUD/USD was unchanged 0.23% at 0.67, while AUD/JPY rose 0.22% to 95.42.

US Dollar Index Futures fell 0.10% to 102.08.
